Oh my sweet girl, how have we taken another journey around the sun together when it still feels like yesterday that you were placed on my heart.

So many amazing milestones to celebrate. Starting grade one with your very own desk. Losing your first tooth, quickly followed by your second. Your first haircut (although no one could possibly tell). Learning to swim, playing t-ball, your first dance recital. And even today, just in time to turn six, you learned to blow a bubble with your gum. Everything you do is a wonder and I am so privileged to get to witness you.

Just like your name, you are pure light. Everywhere you go, you put kindness into the world. Sprinkling it around with your sunny personality, beautiful smile and enchanting presence. Your instinct is always to help, and share, and show your love for everyone around you. You show empathy to every living creature, from Bruce the squirrel to Sparkles the firefly. You’re like a little girl from a fairy tale, and you are absolutely our dream come true. you came into this world smiling and have spent every single day of the last six years, sharing that smile with the world.

My wish for you this year and for the rest of your days is that you never let the world change you. Instead, let your big heart change the world. You can do anything you want in this life, and it fills my heart with so much pride and joy to know that whatever you do, we’ll be right here celebrating.
